Megan and Gordon are one of my newest Cirlot couples, and I am sooo excited about capturing their wedding this October at the Crown Hall in Mobile, Alabama. Like many of the couples I meet, they had never had their photos taken together by a professional photographer. I spent the first few minutes of their arrival on Redemption Square Farm educating them and reassuring them that their photos would be fantastic.
Everyone is nervous when they start their session. That’s completely normal! It’s my job to help you feel comfortable, happy, and madly in love with each other. I always tell my couples that I can’t create connection that isn’t there, but if you like each other, your photos will be amazing. I am telling YOUR story. YOUR story is beautiful.

Bailey and Hunter are one of the amazing COVID couples that are navigating planning their wedding through this year of craziness. Their engagement session was originally scheduled for earlier this year, but when nasty weather changed our plans, we rescheduled and made the best of it. I think it all turned out for the best. I can’t imagine prettier skies for our sunset session.
Bailey had mentioned that Hunter and his family owned and operated plant nurseries in Hurley, Mississippi. We met outside one of the properties to start their session. She had told me that they loved the river and wanted to know if we could start their session at a site off road in the woods. Ummm… yes!!

When Haley rented La Maison Gautier or the “Old Place Mansion” in Gautier, Mississippi for their engagement session, I knew it was going to be good. There are beautiful, ancient oak trees, a historical Southern mansion, and a beautiful waterfront. We had an amazing time together. There are so many beautiful places to photos.

Harley and Dalton are an amazing couple that chose to do their engagement session at the gorgeous Centennial Plaza in Gulfport, Mississippi.
When Harley had reached out with her ideas about their engagement session, I was so excited! They were beyond prepared. They had spent the day together just enjoying each other’s company and had brought Dalton’s antique truck down to the resort to be part of our portrait session. Harley had brought a bottle of champagne to open at the beach. From his cowboy boots to her lacey white dress, this was the most perfect Southern couple. They killed it with their timeless style.

Lacey and Caleb’s engagement session on Dauphin Island, Alabama was so incredibly fun. They are just the sweetest couple. Getting chosen to be their wedding photographer out of all of the hundred other good choices out there just feels kind of incredible! They are kind-hearted, easy going, and are just so easy to spend time with.
Caleb is a youth pastor in Foley, Alabama, and Lacey is a pediatric nurse at the University of South Alabama. They clearly have amazing chemistry together and love each other like crazy.
Because engagement sessions are a time when I get to know my Cirlot couples well, I try to make sure everything is super stress free and chill. I want them to enjoy our session together, laugh a lot, and make fun memories while we go. This session was no exception.

Lacey and Dustin are one of those precious dream couples that photographers pray for. They are just as sweet and as in love as they look. We have been walking carefully through all of this COVID-19 madness together for the past couple of months, and it has only made me all the more thankful to work with ideal clients again and again. While other photographer friends were dealing with couples who were freaking out and canceling- not just postponing or rearranging, I had the great blessing of having hard conversations with my beautiful brides and game planning alongside of them. I am so, so grateful for their trust, empathy, and perseverance in difficult circumstances.

During the styled engagement session on Okaloosa Island in Florida, the light changed from one extreme to the other. During the beginning of their engagement session, a dark cloud had covered the beach. A few minutes into our session, the sun came out in full force and made it quite tricky to do flattering portraits with the harsh light. By the end of the evening, the sun had cooled off and as it dipped into the horizon, the gulf shimmered like we were in a magical new world.

I enjoyed participating in this styled engagement shoot on Okaloosa Island in Florida. Fort Walton Beach is such a beautiful area to visit and an even better place to do a photo shoot.
Jordyn and Austin told me at the beginning of their engagement session that they “weren’t really models.” Ummm… I beg to differ. They were a gorgeous couple to capture with my camera.

Every time I meet new clients, I meet my new favorite people. Amber reached out last month about capturing a small wedding ceremony at The Venue at Dawes in May. We talked a little, and I knew we would be a great match. I sent her my wedding investment guide, she liked how easy it was to customize a package to her needs, and I was given the honor of being her wedding photographer.
I love to get to know my clients, so I send out a questionnaire after they book. I encourage them both to fill it out separately. My #Cirlotcouples always amaze me by getting into the questionnaires and really thinking through their answers. It is just my favorite thing to read them!

Amber and Tyler came to Redemption Square Farm tonight for their engagement session, and they were just the best! They laughed, played along with my silly games and ideas, and were just all around awesome people to spend time with.
Tyler, this man should win an award for patience. My silly ducks decided that he was their new best friend and followed him all around the farm begging for food.

Courtney and Andrew are the sweetest couple. They have been dating for 7 years and are so excited to be engaged now and to move closer towards becoming husband and wife.
Andrew proposed to Courtney almost in the same way he had asked her to become his girlfriend years ago. He had written it on a straw. When he proposed, it was with, you guessed it, straws. So cute!

Courtney and Andrew were just as amazing in person as they looked in these photos. They have been together for 7 years! She looks like a real life Rapunzel with her gorgeous wavy locks that flow down to her waist. Please note, even the animals wanted to be part of their session, and one goat smiled along with them in a photo.
